CPWM Volunteers at the University District Food Bank
University District Food Bank is a local Seattle organization that was founded in 1983 in response to the growing number of families in need of community assistance. Since it first opened its doors, the food bank has helped prevent hunger in Northeast Seattle neighborhoods through various programs. They strive to impact as many individual and families as possible with their Walk-In Food Bank, Home Delivery, Packs for Kids, and Food Stamp Enrollment services.
Last year, University District Food Bank had over 60,000 customers visit their Walk-In Food Bank. Another 150 families were serviced with Home Delivery and 13 nearby schools received over 600 healthy meals and snacks for students through Packs for Kids.
On Wednesday, a group of Columbia Pacific Wealth Management volunteers spent the day at University District Food Bank. They prepared the Walk-In Food bank for customers and packed boxes for Home Delivery. The food bank relies heavily on volunteers to accomplish their mission. They source a majority of the food and operating funds via donation. Columbia Pacific Wealth Management is proud to support local nonprofits that help our community.
