As we turn the page to 2021, last year certainly turned out to be an eventful year. With all that happened, the stock market seemed to be disconnected from day-to-day reality and traded mostly on future expectations of improvement. Here is a chart developed by Avantis that we found interesting, which plots the major events in 2020 against the performance of S&P 500 – underscoring the difficulty of attempting to market time and importance of sticking with your long-term financial plan.
