Can I work with the same advisor as my parents?
At CPWM, we encourage open dialogue among family members to the degree that everyone is comfortable. We are delighted to work with various branches of the family and most families are often served by the same advisor. However, there are a few cases where the next generation has a different advisor at CPWM than the parents and this is something we can accommodate.
I’m not sure where I would start as life is busy, financial accounts are all over the place and I have no idea my budget…?
Although we believe markets are efficient, short-term anomalies like GameStop or AMC can happen. These trading patterns are mostly fueled by the “Retail investor” driving an extremely large trading volume. The increased use of social media platforms, like Reddit and Twitter, can facilitate investor communication and engagement, creating the hype. This is a common question as sometimes people feel overwhelmed or that they have too much going on, and so take no action. We would recommend by reaching out to an advisor and they can help go through the process step by step.
How much money do I need to work with an advisor?
This answer certainly varies among firms. At CPWM, we make a concerted effort to provide guidance and advice. If we believe we cannot provide value and/or a good fit, we can help find other options.
